Precipitato
The final movement of Piano Sonata No. 7, Op. 83.
01 / The artist
Alexandros Kyriakopoulos is a Greek–Australian concert pianist and interdisciplinary artist based in Boston. His work begins at the piano and extends into the ways a performance is conceived, inhabited and shared.
Raised on Kythera and trained in Athens and Boston, he seeks a direct connection between the composer’s imagination and the listener’s experience. Solo recitals, choreography and live painting offer different settings for that encounter.
Study with Dimitri Toufexis and Michael Lewin shaped an approach in which discipline supports imagination. His work asks how a familiar score can speak with fresh urgency—and how a first encounter with classical music can become a lasting relationship.

02 / In dialogue
Sound meets gesture, colour and movement.

Painting, dance and light open different ways into the music. Each collaboration begins with listening. The audience witnesses ideas taking shape through sound, gesture and colour.
An artistic purpose
Music asks something increasingly precious of us: our attention. Alexandros approaches the concert as a place where people can listen closely, encounter unfamiliar ideas and feel part of something unfolding in front of them.
His ambition reaches from interpretation to artistic direction. Through collaborations in dance and painting, and through the productions he hopes to create, he is exploring how classical music can welcome a wider public while retaining its depth, complexity and capacity to surprise.
